Colour is the part of specifying acoustic panels that goes wrong most often — not because people pick badly, but because they pick from a screen.
Felt Does Not Photograph Honestly
Recycled PET felt is a dense, matte, fibrous material. It has almost no specular highlight, so it reads darker and flatter on a monitor than it does on a wall. Two consequences:
- Screen colour is directional. The same Sage Leaf sample looks olive on one monitor and pistachio on another.
- Room light matters more than the colour code. A warm 2700K lamp and a north-facing window will make the same panel look like different products.
This is why we ship physical samples. A swatch in the room, next to your actual floor and furniture, settles in ten seconds what a colour chart cannot settle at all.

The CYC Colour Collection spans neutrals, greens, blues, purples and reds:
- Neutrals: Milk, Dark Vanilla, Stone Grey, Black Rock
- Greens: Sage Leaf, Dark Turquoise
- Blues: Flint, Klein Blue, Space Cadet
- Purples & reds: Eminence, Dark Purple, Hibiscus, Auburn Red, Garnet
- Warm & soft: Nadeshiko Pink, Hickory
Matching to a Palette
Warm timber floors (oak, ash) sit best with Dark Vanilla, Hickory or Garnet — the felt picks up the timber's warmth instead of fighting it. Cool grey concrete or white walls suit Stone Grey, Flint and Space Cadet, which read as texture rather than colour.
One rule that always works: use a saturated colour (Klein Blue, Hibiscus, Eminence) for a single feature wall, and keep the rest of the room neutral. Felt is a large, flat, matte surface — a strong colour used everywhere becomes heavy fast.
Pattern Is the Second Axis
Colour is only half the decision. Fluted and 3D profiles change how light falls across the surface, which shifts the apparent colour. A Stone Grey flat panel and a Stone Grey fluted panel in the same room will not look identical — the fluting adds shadow lines that deepen the tone.
