What are CYC panels made of?

Recycled PET felt — post-consumer plastic bottles are sorted, shredded, melted and heat-pressed into a dense acoustic felt. Made without added formaldehyde binders.

How much sound do they absorb?

Depending on thickness and how the panel is mounted, NRC ranges from about 0.60 to 1.0. Mounting matters: a 12 mm panel fixed direct to the wall absorbs less than the same panel over 25 mm battens, which in turn absorbs less than 12 mm over 50 mm of insulation behind it. Values are measured to ASTM C423 and are always quoted with the mounting condition.

What is the fire classification?

Our reaction-to-fire classification for CYC PET panels is pending supplier test documentation. It is a reaction-to-fire classification, not a fire-resistance rating. The test report will be published as soon as we hold it.

How do I install them?

Accepted Answer

Three ways, no specialist tools: double-sided tape for smooth or temporary finishes, structural adhesive for permanent fixing, or magnetic fixtures for metal walls. Ceiling baffles use our suspension kits.

Can I cut them to size?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Use a steel ruler as a guide and tilt the blade in by 0.5–1 mm for a tight bevel. Dry-lay panels first to check colour and batch matching.

Are they actually sustainable?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the panel core is 100% post-consumer recycled PET and is recyclable where facilities accept it, with low embodied carbon and low VOC emissions. The environmental documentation, including the LCA reference, is available on request.

Can I get custom colours, sizes and patterns?

Yes. The CYC Colour Collection has 16 stock colours, and colour, size and pattern can all be customised for larger projects.

How much is shipping?

Shipping is quoted per order — large sheets ship by LTL freight because of their size. Send us the delivery postcode with your requirement and it is included in the quote. Most orders ship within 1–2 business days of a confirmed order.
