Why use ceiling absorbers instead of wall panels?

In open-plan and partitioned spaces a lot of sound reaches listeners over the top of walls, so treating only the walls has limited effect. Suspended ceiling absorbers intercept that path and also reduce the vertical reflections that make a room sound harsh.

Do the baffles need a structural review?

The panels themselves are light, but the suspension system and the ceiling structure must be checked for the number and spacing proposed. Suspension fixings should always be reviewed against the building structure before installation.

Because sound travels over partitions, ceiling absorption is often the most effective single intervention in an open office. Panels can be suspended independently or fixed to a primary channel.

NRC values are measured to ASTM C423 and depend on panel thickness and mounting method (direct fix, 25 mm cavity, or insulated build-up). Reaction-to-fire classification pending documentation is a reaction-to-fire classification, not a fire-resistance rating. We do not currently hold an ASTM E84 classification. Recycled-content and recyclability claims apply to the panel core.
