What thickness of PET acoustic panel do I need?

For speech and general echo control, 12 mm directly fixed is usually sufficient. Use 24 mm, or 12 mm over a 25 mm cavity, where you need more absorption at lower frequencies — for example in a media room, a music practice space or a noisy open-plan office.

How do the panels fix to the wall?

Three methods are used: construction adhesive for a permanent fix, double-sided tape for a reversible fix on smooth painted walls, and magnetic mounting where panels need to be removable. Method should be matched to the substrate and the weight of the panel.

How much wall area should I treat?

As a starting point, treating 15–25% of the wall area noticeably reduces speech echo in a normally furnished room. Harder, emptier rooms need more. The wall calculator on this site gives a panel count and NRC estimate from your wall dimensions.

NRC values are measured to ASTM C423 and depend on panel thickness and mounting method (direct fix, 25 mm cavity, or insulated build-up). Reaction-to-fire classification pending documentation is a reaction-to-fire classification, not a fire-resistance rating. We do not currently hold an ASTM E84 classification. Recycled-content and recyclability claims apply to the panel core.
